Mild and honey-light, from 100% yellow dried dates. Made for chai, kids' porridge and baking.
पूरा खजूर। गुठली तक।
More of the date in every spoon. That is the whole idea behind Peela Kharik.
Nothing is thrown away. Fruit and seed are ground together, so every spoon carries the fruit’s fibre and minerals plus the seed’s fibre and polyphenols.
One ingredient on the label. No added sugar, no flour, no filler.
Slow-dried until crisp before grinding, so it stays fresh on its own.
Sorted by hand, washed, slow-dried, ground and sieved fine. Every batch, the same way.
चीनी सिर्फ़ मीठा करती है। खजूर मिठास के साथ बहुत कुछ लाता है।
Peela Kharik is the whole dried date, seed and all, ground fine. So when you swap it for refined sugar, the fruit's own fibre and minerals come into your cup with the sweetness.
Per 100 g. Typical values for dried dates and for white sugar, from USDA FoodData Central. Our own lab-tested values will appear here.
आठ कदम। एक ही चीज़: खजूर।
Peela Kharik is not just dates put through a grinder. Each batch goes through 8 slow steps, and nothing is added along the way.
Whole, ripe kharik is picked by hand. Broken or spotted dates are set aside.
Every date is washed in clean water to lift off dust.
The dates are air-dried until no water is left on the skin.
The whole dates, seed inside, are dried again on low heat until crisp right through. Keeping moisture low keeps the powder fresh without preservatives.
Each date is broken into small pieces, seed and all.
Fruit and seed are ground together into a fine powder.
The powder is sieved fine. Coarse bits go back to be ground again.
It is packed and sealed to keep out air and moisture.
गुठली भी, गुण भी।
Most people throw the date seed away. We grind it in with the fruit, so nothing of the date is wasted. Here is what research finds in date seeds:
Date seeds are about 67–74 g fibre per 100 g, most of it insoluble fibre.
Natural plant compounds, the same family found in green tea.
Present in the seed alongside the minerals in the fruit.
Typical values for date seeds from published studies (Journal of Food Science and Technology, 2015; Journal of Pharmacognosy & Phytochemistry, 2018). Not values for our product; our lab-tested values appear in the table above once ready.

Many date powders sold in the market are blended with sugar to make them cheaper. Saanjh is not.

Peela Kharik is yellow (peeli) dried dates, ground fine, with nothing added. Its taste is light and honey-like, so it sweetens chai and coffee without changing their flavour.
Families use it in children's porridge, sheera and kheer, and bakers use it in place of brown sugar in cakes and cookies.
Use 1–2 teaspoons in chai, coffee, porridge or kheer. In baking, replace sugar one-for-one and expect a softer, moister crumb. Close the lid tightly after every use.
Yellow dry dates (100%).
Store in a cool, dry place and close the lid tightly after every use. Best-before date is printed on the pack. Dates contain natural fruit sugars; if you are diabetic, pregnant or under medical care, ask your doctor first.
